If you haven’t made it to The Augusta Market at the River you better hurry on down, it will only be open until October 27th. It is open Saturdays 8 am until 2 pm on 15 8th Street, downtown Augusta. The weather is great right now and it is a pleasurable stroll through a plethora of smells, sights and sounds. I loved the produce I bought but not as much as I enjoyed talking with the folks who grew it! It’s such a personal shopping experience actually meeting the growers and artisans who make/grow the products you buy. I fell in love with a darling greyhound I met at the Greyhound Crossroads booth. Please check them out if you are looking for a loyal, sweet and laid back companion. These darlings deserve a home! I loved the handmade soaps from Luna Bug. I bought a lemongrass bar that smelled terrific. Sadly, I never got to use it because it made a great hostess gift for my friends that had me over for dinner that night! They also scored the fabulous olive bread I bought from Manuel’s Bread Cafe! I enjoyed a fab pumpkin cupcake from the gals of Crepes and Cakes. I found some gorgeous handmade jewelry from the artisans of EarthWare Jewelry. I love their mix metals and hand fired raku beads. If you miss the market on Saturdays don’t worry you can order up fresh, locally grown produce all week long from Augusta Locally Grown. Send me a note and let me know your favorite finds at the market. Have a great weekend!

Last night, I met Burton Dye and we went to Bell Auditorium and saw Gregg Allman. It was awesome…Hope you are enjoying Augusta!
